One of his contributions is the discovery of hybrid games, which has been picked as one of the three important areas in economic theory in the 21 st century (the other two being network games and information economics) by JEP’s Winter 2000 Forecasts for the Future of Economics (Allen, 146-148). He received his BE in applied math and mechanics from Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1981 and his PhD in economics under Herbert Scarf and Martin Shubik from Yale University in 1992. He previously taught at Iowa Sate University (2000-2002) and Ohio Sate University (1992-2000).
